Horsemanship Program
The horsemanship Program is one of Rafter J’s premier programs. The horsemanship program is a combination of classroom and arena time. We will introduce the students to the natural beauty of God’s creation. What better example to use than the majesty, grace and personality of a well-trained horse. Throughout the course the students will learn valuable lessons on Faith, Responsibility and Respect through practical applications necessary to working with horses. By the end of the program, the students will know how to train and care for their horse.
Our Vision Through The Horsemanship Program is:
- To bring people to God through the Love of the Horse
- To have anyone with a love of horses walk in through the doors of the church and leave knowing that Christ loves them.
- To develop communication skills with the horse and learn how to apply them to everyday life.
- To teach the Gospel from the classroom to the arena.
- To establish a ministry to help preserve the traditions and family values of the western culture.
- To teach life skills, ministry skills, and cowboy skills in a positive environment.

Skills the Beginning Student will learn:
| Scripture | Breed Identification | Points of the Horse |
| Nutrition | Medical Care | Social Order |
| Horse Movements | Ground Handling Techniques | Haltering and Grooming |
